About Iranian American Society of Utah

The Iranian American Society of Utah (IASOU) was established in the summer of 2016 in Salt Lake City, UT with the following goals: 1) Teach and to promote Iranian cultural, historical, and educational qualities, 2) Assist and protect Iranians and Iranian Americans with civil and human rights, and 3) Participate in social activities and assist with charitable causes. Since its formation, IASOU has actively coordinated and managed a number of cultural activities for Nowruz, Mehregan, Tirgan, and Yalda. In addition, IASOU has worked with local cultural entities such as the Salt Lake City Arts Council (organizer of the Living Traditions Festival) to introduce and further Iranian culture to the Salt Lake community. Since 2016, IASOU has also participated in charity activities and collaborated with many non-profit organizations such as YWCA, the International Rescue Committee, Omid Foundation, Utah Food Bank, and Catholic Community Services.
