About Iranian Cultural Society of Nova Scotia
Iranian Cultural Society of Nova Scotia (ICS) is a registered not-for-profit, non-political and non-religious organization established in 2002. Our mission is primarily to promote the Iranian culture and support the Iranian-Canadian community in Nova Scotia. Since establishment, and with the help of hundreds of Iranian and non-Iranian volunteers, ICS has performed numerous cultural activities in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The mission of the ICS is to preserve and promote the Iranian culture, custom, art, literature and official language. The Society is independent of any political or religious motives and notions.
Operation of the ICS is based on a free and democratic election and protocol. All members will have the right to vote, express their views and criticism on Society related matters, and be nominated to run for an office of the Society. The Board of Directors (the Board) and its chairperson are accountable to the membership and would be obligated to respond to the legitimate concerns and requests of the membership.
