About Iranian Zoroastrian Association

The Iranian Zoroastrian Association (IZA), originally functioning with The Zoroastrian Association of Greater New York (ZAGNY), was independently founded in 1986. IZA aspires to meet the educational, cultural, and religious needs of the growing Iranian-American Communities in the Northeastern United States region. Although IZA is based in the State of New York, our coverage also encompasses interested members and enthusiastic prospects from the States of New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts (Boston), Pennsylvania (Philadelphia), Virginia and Washington D.C.

As a non-profit, educational, religious and cultural organization, IZA conducts religious ceremonies, celebrates national [Iranian/Persian] holidays and rituals, and organizes and/or sponsors cultural congregations and events. IZA strives to sustain and pass on the Zoroastrian faith, preserve the Iranian (Persian) cultural rituals and to provide educational opportunities in the teaching of Zoroastrianism, Persian language and culture, and history of Iran.
